My wife had the issue with her 135i... just needed topped off. no biggie.
Cars do not consume coolant... if they are consuming coolant then there is a leak or a bad head gasket somewhere and the oil will have coolant in it. It does however evaporate and breakdown over time thus the need for flushing and refilling.
