Embarrassing visit to garage
Took my X1 to the garage today for service and MOT, and mentioned my issue with the cruise control.
Issue was successfully diagnosed; fix: move driver's seat further back! Due to my long legs, my knee was knocking the steering column control stalk when I changed gear.
Easy to miss an obvious cause ......
