You are absolutely right, however I had more trouble moving than stopping when driving on snow/ice !
As the tires are "lost" (the X1 is leased) and unless we take another X1 in January 12, the tires will be useless beyond that. So 2 rear Winter rubbers make for an acceptable compromise!
