I think the point is that the 8speed on the 35i is the best option but doesn't exist for the X1. I drove 35i and 28i X1s and X3s and the X3 8speed 35i was great but I didn't like the X1 6speed. Whatever configuration we get on the X1, we're either sacrificing power or responsiveness. I'm just glad we're all happy with our choices.
