In Jersey i'd be tempted to run a winter tyre myself, if not the DWS work well in snow for the first 15 to 20,000 clicks but then as the tread wears they lose bite, there's no substitute for winter rubber.
The Conti DW (not DWS) is often excellent value.
The DWS i ran on my Saab, really nice looking tyres with aq nice ride but yeah, sidewall a little soft.
