Okay, jack kit came today and I gave it a quick test hop in the garage.
-it fits the jack port correctly
-it will lift the car far enough to remove the tire; I lifted the left front and presume that it would be adequate for the rear as well
-it does indeed take a bunch of turns to lift it, but the ratchet speeds the process quite nicely
-didn't try the torque wrench yet, but presume it too should work
-my only gripe; for the price it would have been nice if it were aluminum and a bit lighter, but the kit is well done and relatively compact; it fits in the pocket in the LR of the trunk and is retained by the elastic strap

Zip, there is a specific admonition not to use a wood block for more lift; not sure if this is really that much of a hazard or just corporate Charley Yankee Alpha thinking.
Thanks for the tip; now to get a plug kit and tire pump; any suggestions on one you like?
Best,
Moon
