Bottom line as I see it:
If you purchased the X1 28i Xdrive thinking you'd easily clear 30mpg highway(reasonable given 33 epa est.) without having to employ any hypermiling techniques, unfortunately you've been misled. Bright side: the car is still pretty damn quick, handles well, is not very light and does get almost CR-V type fuel economy, which as I've said is still very decent for the package.
