I noticed my sport line xDrive28i came with Continental ContiProContact SSR tires. I thought all cars come with Pirelli Cinturato P7s. Is this a recent change?

The Conties are rated 400 AA A. Pirellies are 500 A A. They are also low rolling resistance but Conties are not. My understanding is that Conties are a higher performance tire but Pirellies are more efficient and have longer tread life. Looking at the tread pattern I also think Conties should be better in snow. Both tires have good reviews on Tirerack.

Any opinions on which one is a better tire and how long I should expect them to last?
