I come from a RAV4 with R17 225/65 and even tough I really love my X1 I find hard to believe that BMW think you can do "off road" or even "all road" with the X1 with those wheels measures or am I wrong?
I mean, compared to my former RAV4 I find the wheels on my X1 are so fragile that even the slight pothole could do serious damage to my wheels/tires and suspensions. Do you think the same or am I exagerating? How have your experiences being with your X1 managing potholes, bumps and such?
Is the X1 suspension (I don't know if the X1 M package sports suspensions is way more different) very fragile too that even by doing roads in bad conditions tough not potholes can harm that suspension?
Excuse my ignorance but this is THE ONLY thing that concerns me about my X1 and as I haven't had much experience with such low profiles tires I have these doubts. Thanks!

P.S. I did have one low profile car before -a MB C230K- but sold it after 3 months of use and got my former RAV4.
Depends what you mean by offroad? Offroad in my neck of the woods would include farm tracks, through fields etc. For that I find the X1 OK on the right rubber (M&S tyres). Its certainly got more clearance and suspension travel than the average sedan.

Only other place I have been “offroad” is in Africa and there I would pretty much stick to a Toyota Hilux/Landcruiser type of vehicle.
