Below is response from dealer when I asked him why he reset oil change indicator back to 16k when 2014s are getting it set to 10k, same engine:
Good morning,
Just got the official word from Bmw Engineering, the oil life indicator can only be set one way, the car will then count down accordingly to driving habits. He also stated that the dealers should not try to tamper with the service settings. You are definitely entitled to an oil service every year and of course when the service reminder is on.
