There is definitely a learning curve. after 9 months I am bale to hold the button just long enough to pop the lock without setting off the alarm. I fond that if you hold the button for about 1 second release and then hold the button again it always unlocks. The most important factor is to listen for the lock click when it unlocks and them immediately release the button on the key fob.
