My BMW X1 came with BMW Apps installed but I've never used the smartphone cradle in the armrest. It was taking up space, so I removed it. It's the base only, so you would need to buy the appropriate snap in adapter. I removed it carefully so all wiring connectors are in tact and complete. Let me know if you have questions.
