I've been lurking here for awhile. I guess it's time I weighed in on the 'disappointing' mileage I have been getting from my xDrive 28i (~2000 mi). Based on three consecutive tank fulls of pure city driving I got 16.2 mpg. This was using the paddle shifters in sport mode. After that I decided to see what Eco-Pro in D would get me. After a week and half a tank full (all I could stand) I got 17.0 mpg. That is a hell of a long way from 22 mpg! My city driving may be more severe than most (no freeway, stoplights/signs every 3-5 blocks, 21 mph avg) but it's still disappointing.

My highway milage isn't much more encouraging. I've taken two trips since new. The first one was two tanks at about 1000 mi on the odometer. I got 27.3 mpg at 75-80 mph (indicated) in Eco-Pro. The second trip was 240 miles at a steady 75 mph indicated (72 mph actual), also in Eco-Pro. This yielded 28.0 mpg.

Yes, it's winter with winter blend gas, but I can't see these numbers going up by more than 2 mpg when it warms up. I don't see any way to get the EPA numbers.

Other than that, I love my X1!
