Same here, I have a E93 335 and don't see much difference. Maybe M Sport with summer performance tires make a difference but I ordered mine before X1 was in the market to do a test drive. I personally would ignore all the discussion about EPS, if it was so bad why would 3 series sales be up. In another 3 years hydraulic won't be available on any BMW's or most cars so just go with the flow.
