Tried my Yakima Trunk Bike Rack when I had an Outback, but the rack would slide down the top support straps. A friend owns a bike shop and had him fir it same problem. We tried a Saris Superbones, I really like this one. Solid, easy setup only problem was upper support straps hooks were so thick the rubbed on the body of the car in the gap. So this was a no-go. I decided to go with a hitch mount. Got hitch installed and went to my friend and tried Yakima and Tule, liked the fit close to car and would tilt. Girlfriend had trouble with tilting with bikes on rack. Tried Saris Super-Clamp, sits further from car put can open without tilting, solid, at 150 mph bike stay put, one bolt with lock holds firm to hitch (also integrated cable lock for bike), weighs 26 pounds she can put it on or take it off by herself and wheel holders are about 18-19" from the ground. This is what worked best for use.
