I have a little over 100k on my 28 and have not changed the spark plugs to my knowledge. If it was done, it was done by the dealer without them telling me, which is not likely. The car is still running just fine and dandy.
The plugs on my wife's WRX have been changed once in 95k miles. No difference in performance.
