Once you cut the bottom off, it requires a good bit of force to get the cover over the next ridge as it's not perfectly sized. Never tried it on the car, but that would certainly make it harder.

Why didn't you trim it when you had it out? Or did you just do the springs (in which case, you'll probably pull it apart soon enough when you see how bad the stock shocks/struts are on the H&Rs )?
