I don't mind the new styling. That said, I'd rather keep the E84 styling while having the rear gate a little more vertical (lots of lost space because of the angle of the gate), and get the first foot of the F48 front end (headlights and the placement of the fog lights is better IMO).
But strictly E84 vs F48 - the previous generation wins hands down.
