I didn't cheap out. Not a single choice I made was based on costs.
And I'd want
both RWD and AWD. Older cars had a manual lever where you could turn 4WD on or off. I'd love to see that again, so I can get the best of both worlds - the agility and better mileage of RWD, while being able to use AWD only when I want it.
