BMW only forces Americans to do that...
Same reason the options list doesn't include a manual trnsmission, yet in germany, thay have manual X1's.
America is a cash cow for BMW and they are so punch-drunk on American sales, that the CEO has little respect for individual customers here. They sit looking at the portfolio available to them, then ignorantly believe 300 Million Americans see the same thing here.. yet, the cars are wholly option differently, thus a different car.
I would already own a fully loaded X1, if it were offered in a manual. Heck, I would even pay a $1,500 premium on the OPTIONS list for a manual.
Why does BMW go threw all the logistics of bringing a car to market here in America, then limit the reason people want to buy it? Specially when that exact product exist, right outside their own Headquarters..?
Ignorance? Marketing? Snobbery?
